Training Books

Learning to fly seaplanes does not involve much theoretical learning beyond what you learned as a landplane pilot, but it is very useful to be familiar with the quirks and procedures involved in flying seaplanes before you start your training.

Instant Gratification!

Alright, you've read through the majority of this flight training primer, and you're itching to read more. No problem! We've made Chapter 15 (Seaplanes) of the FAA's Flight Training Handbook (AC 61-21A) available online (PDF, 218KB). While this text will not make you an expert, it's a good theoretical introduction to flying seaplanes.
