Security
The Seaplane Pilots Association takes security seriously. We have invested heavily in high-grade
encryption systems to ensure that your online credit card transactions will remain safe and secure.
We employ 128-bit SSL encryption to ensure that credit card information is
transmitted safely between your web browser and our web server. However, we take security one step
further, PGP-encrypting your credit card information before transmitting it over the Internet to
our office. Once it reaches our office, we decrypt it and manually remove any duplicate orders,
ensuring safe and secure transactions on our web site.
Please note that SSL security must be supported by your web browser for you
to transmit credit card information to us. Most browsers (including Netscape Navigator and
Microsoft Internet Explorer) have supported SSL encryption since the mid-1990s.
If your browser does not support SSL, you will not be able to access forms
that ask for your credit card number.
At no point is your credit card information transmitted over or stored on the Internet
in an unencrypted form. While no security measure is foolproof, we are quite confident that
your credit card number is safer in our secure transmission system than in the hands of
your local retail clerk.
For more information on SSL encryption, please see Netscape's SSL and Security documentation.
For more information on PGP, please see PGP, Inc.'s web site.
